For years I admired several artists’ work but didn’t see their path as my reality. Then I read this:
“Creativity is not only a gift given to artists alone. Creativity is available to everyone. Much like the ability to laugh or even dream, creativity is simply a part of being human.” -Nicholas Wilton, Art2Life
In my third season of life as an empty nester, I had the desire and time to take on a challenge, so I declared an “I can do that” attitude and began my studies! I set out to learn basic art principles while identifying what in life inspires me. The result: a new world opened for me. I quickly discovered the art of self-expression and grateful to have found own unique voice as I create authentic art. I love art that gives me energy — bright colors, interesting designs, texture and mark-making have become part of my practice.
My style has been described as whimsical, spiritual, and uplifting. It seems to evoke a smile from viewers and elicit a feeling of peace, joy, and serenity. My hope is that my art reminds you that there IS good in the world.
As I continue this artistic path, I am grateful for the newfound purpose it has brought into my life. And so, I encourage others to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery, to never dismiss the power of a new beginning and the invitation to explore untapped potential.
MY WORK IN THE WORLD
For several years, I’ve had the privilege of selling my work in various stores across the Southeast. Nowadays, I’m focusing on connecting directly with customers through shows and my website, where I can share my art and the stories behind it more personally.
I LOVE SUPPORTING MY COMMUNITY
Over the years, I’ve been honored to donate my artwork to several charitable organizations. Giving back through my art is something I’m passionate about, and it’s a way for me to support causes that matter to me and my community.
