The “Take Care of Your Tribe” collection was created to honor those who are so important in our lives, FRIENDS. We all need them. They cheer us on, keep us going, make us better, and, gratefully, they’re there when life gets tough.
You may have heard “the elephant story’. I hadn’t…it goes like this:
Female elephants, the world’s most empathetic animal, are known to champion one another in times of need. When one elephant is either under attack or giving birth her elephant friends encircle her, watching guard and providing protection. What a beautiful sight.
The friends I shared this story with became overwhelmed with emotion – a few tears were shed from some unlikely people! I guess we realize that humans are much the same. We are also fierce protectors and rally around those who are down, vulnerable or are giving birth to new life, new ideas, new ventures, new spaces.
This message is too good to keep to myself, so the inspirational artist in me got to work. I created a series of paintings of elephants and had prints made to give to friends thanking them for our friendship.
Through every climb, stumble, and new horizon, we stay linked. “Unbreakable Journeys” is a tribute to the companions who walk beside us—no matter how winding the road.
